Drunk youths rampage in Bhadrak, three seriously injured in attack
Bhubaneswar, Dec 19: A group of intoxicated youths went on a rampage in Bhadrak town on Wednesday night, resulting in three individuals suffering serious injuries near the new bus stand. Eyewitnesses reported that a truck carrying eggs was parked near the bus stand when the group approached the driver, demanding money in addition to the eggs. When the driver refused, they attacked him with sharp weapons.
In desperation, the truck driver called the transport owner, P. Basu, from Charampa. Upon Basu's arrival with two associates, a heated argument broke out with the drunken youths. The situation escalated as the trio attacked Basu, the egg trader, and an auto driver who was unloading eggs, using knives and blades.
The injured individuals quickly made their way to the Town police station in an auto-rickshaw to file a complaint. They were subsequently transported to Bhadrak District Headquarters Hospital, with two later transferred to Cuttack due to their critical condition. By the time police arrived, the assailants had fled the scene with Basu’s bike. Authorities have initiated an investigation and are actively searching for the suspects.
