WAREE Energies to invest ₹25,000 crore in major solar plant in Dhenkanal

Bhubaneswar, Dec 16: WAREE Energies Limited has announced a massive investment of ₹25,000 crore to establish a state-of-the-art solar manufacturing plant at Neulpoi in Odisha's Dhenkanal district. Spread across 595 acres, the facility will focus on producing solar panels, modules, and related components while generating 6 gigawatts of solar energy.
Odisha’s Minister for Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare, Krushna Chandra Patra, who also oversees the Science and Technology department, inaugurated the groundbreaking ceremony on Monday. Speaking at the event, Patra emphasized that the project will be a game-changer for Dhenkanal, fostering industrial growth and helping meet Odisha's rising energy demands through sustainable means.
The project is expected to create approximately 14,000 direct and indirect employment opportunities over the next 5 to 10 years. WAREE director Hitesh Mehta highlighted that these jobs would be generated in phases as the plant becomes operational.
This initiative aligns with Odisha’s focus on renewable energy and is set to contribute significantly to the state’s economic and environmental progress.
