Bhubaneswar, Dec 14: A man was arrested for leaking an intimate video of his girlfriend in Banki, Cuttack district, on Friday. The accused, identified as Amiya Chakra, was apprehended by the police in Jajpur.

According to reports, Amiya, a resident of the Lingaraj police station area, had been in a live-in relationship with a woman from Harirajpur village in Banki. He had initially promised to marry her and established a physical relationship. However, when the woman later insisted on marriage, Amiya retaliated by circulating a private video of their intimate moments online.

Distressed by the incident, the woman gathered the courage to file a complaint at the Banki police station last month. After an investigation, the police were able to trace Amiya through his phone number. Late on Friday night, they successfully arrested him in the Jajpur area.

The case has drawn attention to the rising issue of cybercrimes and the misuse of private content in relationships.
