Assistant Conservator of Forest arrested for disproportionate assets in Sambalpur

Bhubaneswar, Dec 7: Rebati Raman Joshi, the Assistant Conservator of Forest (ACF) of Hirakud Wildlife Division in Sambalpur, has been arrested by Vigilance sleuths for allegedly amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.
Vigilance teams conducted extensive raids on Joshi's properties and uncovered assets worth crores, including three buildings, one of which is a triple-storeyed structure in Sambalpur valued at approximately ₹1.80 crore. Additionally, he owns four flats—one in Bhubaneswar and three in Sambalpur—seven plots of land, and ₹14.71 lakh in cash.
Unable to provide satisfactory explanations for the source of these assets or justify their acquisition, Joshi was taken into custody. A case has been registered against him at Sambalpur Vigilance Police Station (Case No. 28/2024).
Joshi is set to be forwarded to court today. The ongoing investigation aims to unearth further details regarding his financial dealings and potential connections to other irregularities. Vigilance authorities are leaving no stone unturned in the probe.
