Car catches fire on Puri-Bhubaneswar Highway, two narrowly escape

Bhubaneswar, Dec 5: In a startling incident, a car carrying the Registrar of the State Information Commission caught fire on the Puri-Bhubaneswar National Highway near Kalpana-Panthanivas on Thursday. The Registrar and his driver, who were en route to work, narrowly escaped a potentially fatal accident.
The vehicle reportedly burst into flames as it approached the Kalpana-Panthanivas area. Acting swiftly, both occupants managed to exit the car just moments before it was engulfed in flames. The fire created panic among other commuters as the burning car blocked a portion of the highway.
Fire brigade personnel were promptly alerted and rushed to the scene. They successfully extinguished the blaze, preventing further damage or injury.
While the precise cause of the fire remains undetermined, initial assessments suggest that a short circuit might have triggered the incident. Authorities have launched an investigation to confirm the cause and ensure similar incidents are avoided in the future.
