Fresh ragging allegation rocks MKCG Medical College in Berhampur

Bhubaneswar, Dec 2: MKCG Medical College in Berhampur is embroiled in controversy following a fresh ragging allegation by a junior student against senior students. The complainant reported to the anti-ragging cell, alleging both mental and physical harassment. The student claimed that seniors not only tortured him but also coerced him into performing their personal chores.
In response, the college’s anti-ragging cell convened a meeting on Monday to deliberate on the complaint and chart the next course of action.
Principal Suchitra Dash reaffirmed the institution's zero-tolerance policy towards ragging, promising strict and immediate action against those found guilty. "The anti-ragging committee will thoroughly investigate the allegations, and any involvement in ragging will result in stringent punitive measures," she emphasized.
This incident follows an earlier complaint from the guardian of a second-year MBBS student, who alleged that his daughter was similarly harassed by seniors. The administration’s firm stance reflects its commitment to fostering a safe and respectful learning environment.
