Odisha launches 24x7 control room and helpline for farmers
Bhubaneswar, Nov 28: In a significant move to support farmers, the Odisha government has introduced a 24-hour control room and a toll-free helpline to address issues related to paddy procurement. The initiative, launched by Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare Minister Krushna Chandra Patra, aims to ensure a seamless procurement process and timely grievance redressal.
Farmers can now report issues or seek guidance by calling the toll-free number 1967. The control room will operate round the clock, offering immediate assistance to farmers and addressing their concerns promptly.
During the launch, Minister Patra highlighted the importance of this initiative in improving transparency and efficiency in the procurement process. He reiterated the government’s commitment to safeguarding farmers' interests and ensuring a hassle-free procurement season.
Additionally, the command control center, established under the Supplies Department, features CCTV surveillance of all mandis, enabling comprehensive monitoring and ensuring fair practices during procurement operations.
