Man arrested for murdering younger brother in Cuttack district

Bhubaneswar, Nov 27: A man was arrested for murdering his younger brother in Khirikhia village, under the Gurudijhatia police jurisdiction in Cuttack district, on Wednesday.
Reports reveal that Behara Badra, the elder brother, allegedly killed his younger sibling, Saroj Badra, following a heated argument that escalated into violence. The two brothers had been involved in a long-standing family feud, which boiled over during a trivial dispute. In a fit of rage, Behara attacked Saroj with a spade, inflicting fatal injuries. Saroj succumbed to his wounds, sending shockwaves through the village.
Upon receiving the information, Choudwar SDPO Umakantha Nayak, along with Gurudijhatia police station officer-in-charge Paresh Kumar Mohanty and SI Purnamasi Sethi, immediately arrived at the scene.
Behara was arrested shortly after the incident, and the victim's body was sent to Athagarh Sub-Divisional Headquarters Hospital for post-mortem. The police have charged Behara with murder, and he was subsequently presented in court, where he was remanded to judicial custody.
