STA seizes actress’s scooter for breaking traffic rules on national highway

Bhubaneswar, Nov 25: The State Transport Authority (STA) has intensified its enforcement of traffic rules and crackdown on reckless driving after a series of accidents in the capital city. On Sunday, the scooter of Jatra actress Rani Priyadarshini was seized for violating traffic laws by shooting a video reel without wearing a helmet.
Reports revealed that the actress had shared a video on social media, showcasing herself riding a scooter on a national highway while making a reel. Her actions drew attention from the Transport Commissioner, STA, and the Bhubaneswar DCP Traffic, prompting immediate action.
The STA, in collaboration with Badagada police, seized her scooter and announced potential legal consequences for violating traffic laws, including fines. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), the STA stated, "Reckless driving and traffic rule violations will not be tolerated. Necessary action has been initiated under the Motor Vehicles Act."
The authority also issued a strong advisory against creating videos or reels on public roads, stressing the critical importance of adhering to traffic safety norms.
