Bhubaneswar: State government employees will be given full pension on the day of retirement itself. The state government had issued a notification in 2019, making some such rules, and the Public Administration Department had directed various departments to follow it. But despite this order of the state government, many departments are adopting a lax policy in doing this. Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja has expressed concern in this regard and has directed to strictly follow the rules immediately.

The Chief Secretary has written a letter to the Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and Commissioners and Civil Secretaries of all departments, stating that the state government has decided to provide full pension to government employees on the day of retirement from December 12, 2019. Therefore, as per the Odisha Civil Service Pension Rules-1992 and the letter dated December 12, 2019 of the Public Administration Department, steps will be taken to provide full pension to all eligible government employees on the day of their retirement.
