Cyclonic circulation forms over Bay of Bengal, IMD issues update
Bhubaneswar, Nov 21: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) reported on Thursday that a cyclonic circulation has developed over the southeast Bay of Bengal, which is likely to intensify into a low-pressure area by Friday. According to the IMD, this low-pressure system may further strengthen into a cyclonic storm within the next 48 hours.
If the system intensifies, it is expected to approach the Tamil Nadu coast by November 29. However, the IMD has clarified that Odisha will not face any significant impact from the potential cyclonic storm.
Meanwhile, Odisha continues to experience a dip in night temperatures. Dry weather conditions are likely to persist over the next five days.
The state recorded its lowest minimum temperature in K. Udayagiri at 6.2°C, followed by Similiguda in Koraput at 8.1°C. Phulbani registered 9.5°C, while Daringbadi recorded 10.5°C. Residents have been advised to prepare for colder nights ahead.
