Odisha’s night temperatures drop below 15°C in 10 locations

Bhubaneswar, Nov 18: Odisha experienced a dip in night temperatures on Sunday, with at least 10 locations recording below 15°C, marking the onset of winter. Despite entering the third week of November, warm conditions persist in many parts of the state except in southern interior regions. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) forecasts a further drop in temperatures by 2°C to 3°C over the next three days.
G Udayagiri emerged as the coldest location, recording a chilly 7.8°C, followed by Phulbani at 11°C, where moderate fog was also reported. Bhubaneswar recorded a minimum temperature of 16°C, while Cuttack registered 16.5°C.
Other notable minimum temperatures included Daringbadi at 12°C, Angul and Bhawanipatna at 13°C, Rourkela at 13.1°C, Jharsuguda at 13.3°C, and Sundargarh and Bhadrak at 14°C. Keonjhar recorded 14.6°C, and Dhenkanal registered 14.9°C. Angul recorded a notable 4.5°C below its normal night temperature.
As winter sets in, evenings are turning colder across the state. The IMD has also predicted dry weather with no chance of rain for the next seven days.
