Bhubaneswar, Nov 16: A 25-year-old youth, identified as Bibhu Majhi, reportedly went missing after jumping into the Mahanadi River near the Paradip Bhutamundi Pool in Jagatsinghpur district on Saturday.

Bibhu, a resident of Mangarajpur village under Kujang Police Station, was pursuing a diploma in mechanical engineering. According to sources, he jumped into the river early in the morning following a heated family dispute. Witnesses, including local residents and fishermen, saw him leap into the river and promptly alerted Kujang Fire Service officials.

Fire service personnel, with the assistance of local fishermen, launched an extensive search operation in the river to locate Bibhu. However, as of the latest reports, he remains untraced.

The incident has left the community in shock, with neighbors and family members anxiously awaiting updates. Authorities continue their search efforts, and further investigations are underway to determine the exact circumstances leading to the incident.
