State Government To Return Land Acquired For Vedanta University

The land acquired for Puri Vedanta University will be returned by the state government. Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari gave this information on Wednesday. Minister Shri Pujari said that those whose lands were encroached will be identified and returned by making necessary changes in the leases. He said that the process has been started by the state government and the notification will be published in the next two days.

According to information, the Supreme Court has upheld the High Court's verdict for the return of 3342.53 acres of private land acquired by the Anil Agarwal Foundation through the state government. However, the compensation given at the time of acquisition has to be returned by the respective land owners.
