Bhubaneswar, Nov 13: A tragic incident unfolded on Wednesday at Kalinga Adarsh Residential School in Kandhamal district, where a Class X student was found dead in his hostel. 

The student, identified as Anandeshwar Mallik from Balisugri village, was reportedly discovered hanging from a towel in the hostel’s toilet. Fellow students stumbled upon the body and promptly informed the hostel authorities, who then alerted the police.

Anandeshwar's family has raised serious concerns regarding his death. His brother alleged that Anandeshwar had faced repeated scolding and criticism from the school’s teachers, who had even suggested that he transfer to another school. 

The family believes these incidents contributed to his distress, holding the hostel authorities responsible for the tragic outcome. They have called for a thorough, high-level investigation to uncover the circumstances leading to Anandeshwar’s death. Police are currently investigating, gathering testimonies from both students and staff as part of the inquiry.
