Son allegedly bludgeons mother to death in Jharsuguda district
Bhubaneswar, Nov 9: In a shocking incident, a 60-year-old woman was allegedly killed by her son in Mahijor Village under the Belpahar police limits of Jharsuguda district on Saturday. The motive behind the crime remains unknown.
The deceased, identified as Urkuli Luhara, was reportedly attacked by her son, Banamali Lohar, while she was asleep. According to sources, Banamali struck Urkuli on the head with a stick. Hearing her cries, locals rushed to her aid and found her in critical condition. She was immediately taken to the Lakhanpur Community Health Center, where doctors pronounced her dead.
Belpahar police arrived at the scene upon receiving the report and detained the accused to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A scientific team has been deployed to assist with the investigation, and efforts are underway to determine the motive behind the tragic killing.
