IDCO junior manager arrested for amassing disproportionate assets worth crores

Bhubaneswar, Nov 7: Vigilance officers have arrested Bijay Kumar Udaysingh, a Junior Manager at the Industrial Infrastructure Development Corporation (IDCO), on charges of possessing assets that are disproportionate to his known sources of income. Acting on allegations of wealth accumulation beyond his means, the Vigilance department conducted simultaneous searches on Wednesday across multiple properties associated with Udaysingh.
During the raids, authorities uncovered a sprawling four-story mansion valued at over Rs. 3.22 crore, one flat, three premium plots, bank deposits exceeding Rs. 55.5 lakh, and cash totaling Rs. 4.5 lakh. Udaysingh was reportedly unable to justify the sources of this wealth, prompting suspicions of illicit financial gains.
Vigilance sources confirmed that Udaysingh will be presented in court soon to face charges related to the accumulation of disproportionate assets. The investigation has stirred discussions on corruption within government departments as authorities work to gather more evidence against him.
