Shots fired on Nandan Kanan Express, Railways initiate probe

Bhubaneswar, Nov 5: Railway authorities have launched an investigation following reports of a firing incident on the Nandan Kanan Express. The alleged incident occurred around 9:45 am on Tuesday between the Bhadrak and Baudapur sections.
Reports indicate that two rounds were fired at the guard brake of train number 12816 Nandan Kanan Express. The information was initially relayed from Khordha Road coaching control.
In response, senior officials immediately alerted the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police Service (GRPS) to ensure passenger safety. The East Coast Railway (ECoR) issued a statement detailing the swift actions taken.
The statement confirmed that PC/RPF/Jajpur Keonjhar Road (JJKR) was directed to attend to the train, while PC/RPF/Bhadrak was tasked with reaching the incident site and coordinating with GRPS and local police for further investigation.
