Tigress Rupa Give Birth To Four Cubs In Nandankanan Zoo

Good news from Nandankanan Zoological Park as tigress Rupa became a mother for the third time. Rupa, a 6-year-old white tigress living in the isolation enclosure of the zoo, has given birth to four cubs from her third womb. While the sex of the newborn cubs has not been determined, they appear to be white and red in color.
The first cub was born at 5:43 am on Saturday morning, the second at 6:22 am, the third at 7:49 am and the fourth at 9:31 am. Rupa was conceived by the black tiger in number 21 chamber from her union with Krishna. After 105 days, it gave birth to 4 cubs. The mother tiger was found breastfeeding her cubs. Including 4 tiger cubs, the number of tigers in Nandankanan has increased to 28. Now the mother and all the cubs are healthy.
Rupa and Rajesh were born on September 22, 2018 from the second pregnancy of tigress Vijaya and tiger Roshan. Roopa lived in a tiger safari with his brother Rajesh. On March 11, 2022, tigress Rupa gave birth to three cubs from her first litter and two cubs for the second time on January 6, 2023. Rupa`s first cub, the white tiger, Himashti, was sent to the Birsa Zoo by the authorities on July 9, 2024, as part of the animal exchange process. The other baby whales are in Nandankanan.
It is to be noted that , in January 1980, the first white tiger was born here. The common tigress Ganga and Deepak were the first to produce three white tiger cubs, in a rare occurrence.
