CM Majhi provides aid to kin of Odia laborers killed in Patna metro accident

Bhubaneswar, Oct 30: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Wednesday extended financial aid to the families of two Odia laborers who lost their lives in a tragic accident at the Patna Metro tunnel construction site on Monday night.
Majhi announced a compensation of ₹6 lakh each for the bereaved families and expressed deep condolences over the unfortunate incident. He assured the state’s support to the affected families during this difficult time.
The deceased workers were identified as Manoj Behera from Gochabadi village under Rasang panchayat and Vijay Behera from Kadua village. Both lost their lives when a crane's brakes malfunctioned, causing a fatal accident within the metro tunnel site.
The incident occurred in the Peerbahore area, near the section between Patna University and the Patna Medical College and Hospital (PMCH), also injuring six other workers. Authorities have initiated an investigation to determine the exact cause of the mishap, and safety protocols at the construction site are under review.
