CM Mohan Charan Majhi flags off ‘Run for Unity’ marathon in Bhubaneswar

Bhubaneswar, Oct 29: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi flagged off the ‘Run for Unity’ marathon at Kalinga Stadium in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday to mark National Unity Day. The event, held in honor of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s birth anniversary, witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 2,000 people, including students, athletes, and members of various sports organizations across Odisha.
Several prominent leaders joined the marathon, including Deputy Chief Minister Parvati Parida, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari, Higher Education and Sports Minister Suryavansi Suraj, Health Minister Dr. Mukesh Mahaling, and Panchayat Raj Minister Ravi Narayan Naik. BJP state president Manmohan Samal, Ekamra MLA Babu Singh, and other dignitaries were also present.
Although Patel's birth anniversary, Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, is traditionally celebrated on October 31, the event was advanced to Dhanteras due to its overlap with Diwali this year. The marathon reflected Odisha's commitment to unity, with participants promoting the message of national integration and social harmony.
