Development Commissioner holds emergency meeting on post-cyclone flood control

Bhubaneswar, Oct 26: On Saturday, Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary of the Water Resources Department, Anu Garg, conducted an emergency meeting at Secha Sadan to assess the post-cyclone situation in Odisha.
Senior officials from the Water Resources Department, along with district-level nodal officers currently stationed in the cyclone-affected areas, attended the meeting. Garg instructed the officials to work closely with district administrations to manage potential flood risks and ensure swift action on the ground.
Cyclone Dana’s heavy rainfall has impacted multiple districts, raising concerns of possible flooding. To address this, the government has put proactive measures in place, including flood monitoring and rapid response teams to handle any escalating situations.
Relief and rescue plans were also reviewed during the meeting, emphasizing the safety of residents in vulnerable areas. The government is committed to restoring normalcy, with relief teams deployed and resources ready to assist those affected by the cyclone.
