Mystery surrounds discovery of woman’s body in railway wagon in Jharsuguda

Bhubaneswar, Oct 25: Police recovered the body of an unidentified woman stuffed in a sack inside a railway wagon in Jharsuguda district on Friday. The wagon was stationed at BOCM Siding No. 3 of the Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) Lakhanpur mining area for coal transportation.
According to reports, the wagon had arrived from Agartala to load coal. Authorities from Jharsuguda district police and Railway Police immediately reached the spot and launched an investigation. Forensic teams have also been called to collect evidence from the scene.
While the woman’s identity remains unknown, officials suspect foul play. The body was found in a decomposed state, raising concerns that she may have been killed elsewhere and her body dumped during transit. Police are examining CCTV footage from the railway yard and questioning staff to gather clues. The investigation is ongoing to trace her identity and uncover the circumstances of the crime.
