Agriculture dept cancels employee leave to assess cyclone damage

Bhubaneswar, Oct 25: The Odisha Agriculture Department has officially canceled the leaves and holidays of its employees on October 26 and 27 to facilitate the assessment of damage to standing crops caused by Cyclone Dana.
In a formal order issued by the department, officials emphasized the urgency of post-cyclone activities in the districts affected by the cyclone, particularly for evaluating crop damage. The order states, “In view of the urgent nature of post-cyclone activities in districts affected by Cyclone Dana, official holidays on October 26 and 27 are hereby canceled. All officers in the affected districts and Bhubaneswar are instructed not to leave their official headquarters during these days and remain alert for duty as required.”
The directive highlights the importance of timely assessments to address the impact of the cyclone on agriculture. Furthermore, the department warned that any deviations from these instructions would be taken seriously, underscoring the critical need for vigilance and readiness during this recovery period.
