Railways cancel more trains as cyclone ‘Dana’ approaches Odisha coast

Bhubaneswar, Oct 24: In preparation for Cyclone Dana, which is expected to make landfall between Bhitarkanika National Park and Dhamra Port in Odisha by early Friday morning, the Railways announced further train cancellations.
On Thursday, the East Coast Railway (ECoR) and South Eastern Railway (SER) cancelled 28 additional trains. Of these, 17 trains were suspended on Thursday, 10 more on Friday, and one has been cancelled for Saturday.
So far, a total of 203 trains passing through Odisha have been cancelled due to the cyclone. This includes the earlier cancellation of 197 trains announced by ECoR. The cancellations are part of precautionary measures to ensure passenger safety during the cyclone's impact.
ECoR has also released dedicated helpline numbers for different stations under its jurisdiction to assist travelers and provide timely updates regarding train services.
