Vigilance raids 10 locations linked to Keonjhar Chief Engineer in DA case
Bhubaneswar, Oct 22: In a major crackdown on corruption, Vigilance officials conducted simultaneous raids at 10 locations linked to Kailash Chandra Sahu, Chief Engineer and Basin Manager of Baitarani Basin, Keonjhar. The raids were launched based on allegations of possession of disproportionate assets (DA).
The search operations are being carried out by a team led by an Additional Superintendent of Police, accompanied by four Deputy Superintendents of Police, seven inspectors, seven Assistant Sub-Inspectors (ASIs), and other supporting staff, with search warrants issued by the Special Judge, Vigilance, Keonjhar.
The locations include multiple residential and commercial properties: Flat No. 308 on the 3rd floor of Jagannath Mansion in Bhoi Nagar, Bhubaneswar; Flat No. 002 on the 2nd floor of Maa Tarini Apartment at Vyasanagar, Jajpur; and Flat No. 1302 in Dharma Heaven Apartment, Puri. Other properties include a shop in Jagabandhu Bhawan at Vyasanagar, a triple-story residential building in Mrutyunjayapur, and two storehouses in Begana, Jajpur.
Additionally, officials searched Sahu's government quarter and office chamber in Keonjhar, along with his ancestral home in Ramkapur, Cuttack, and the residence of a relative in Banahara, Salepur, Cuttack. The raids are ongoing as part of efforts to uncover evidence related to the alleged disproportionate assets.
