Bhubaneswar, Oct 19: A man and his 12-year-old son sustained severe injuries after an unidentified attacker hurled acid at them while they were sleeping on their porch. The shocking incident occurred late Friday night in Kundeli village, under Tumudibandh police limits, in Odisha's Kandhamal district.

The victims, identified as Mohan Kandar and his son Anuj Kandar, were asleep when the attacker targeted them. Their screams woke other family members, but the assailant had already fled by the time anyone could respond.

Mohan and Anuj were initially taken to the Tumudibandh Medical Centre, but due to the severity of their injuries, they were transferred to the Sub-Divisional Hospital in Baliguda for advanced treatment.

Police have registered a case and launched an investigation, interrogating locals to track down the assailant. Authorities are treating the incident with utmost seriousness, working to identify the culprit behind this horrifying act.
