Mother and 4-year-old daughter critically injured after falling from moving train
Bhubaneswar, Oct 18: In a distressing incident on Friday morning, a woman and her four-year-old daughter suffered severe injuries after falling from a moving train in Odisha.
Reports indicate that the accident occurred at the Singapur Road railway station. The victims have been identified as Ratika Chandana and her daughter, Hastini Chandana.
Initially, both were taken to the Rayagada District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) but were later transferred to Berhampur MKCG Medical College and Hospital as their conditions worsened.
Ratika sustained a fractured left leg, and her arms and one leg were severed in the fall, while Hastini underwent amputations of her right hand and leg.
The mother and daughter, along with Ratika’s husband Chaitanya Chandana, who reside in Kanijhuri, Titlagarh, had traveled to Rayagada district to attend the last rites of a relative two days prior to the accident. The incident occurred while they were on their way back home.
