Stepmother kills 5-year-old boy by dumping him in well, arrested in Sundargarh
Bhubaneswar, Oct 16: In a horrific incident, a woman allegedly tied her five-year-old stepson to a stone and threw him into a well in Lathitkata block of Odisha’s Sundargarh district.
According to reports, the accused, 20-year-old Nauri Gudiya, wanted to eliminate the child from her husband’s first marriage. On October 11, taking advantage of her husband Fransis Gudia’s absence, she tied the boy to a stone, covered his eyes with a cloth, and dumped him in a nearby well.
The next day, Nauri filed a missing person’s report at the Raghunathpalli police station to mislead authorities.
However, during their investigation, police discovered the child’s body floating in the well, still tied to the concrete block. After detaining Nauri for questioning, she confessed to the crime during interrogation.
Police arrested Nauri Gudiya on October 15, and further investigation is underway.
