DJ and firecracker ban enforced in Cuttack to ensure peaceful festivities

Bhubaneswar, Oct 1: The Cuttack district administration has implemented a ban on the use of DJs, LED lights, and firecrackers until November 26 as part of efforts to mitigate noise pollution during the festive season. This decision aims to create a safer and more peaceful celebration for all.
According to the administration's directives, the use of loud sound systems exceeding 65 decibels is strictly prohibited, along with the bursting of firecrackers that generate excessive noise. Cuttack District Collector Dattatraya Bhausaheb Shinde has issued orders against loud DJ music and sound systems at various events, including pandals, immersion processions, and the Bali Yatra Utsav. These measures are intended to promote a harmonious festive environment.
Puja pandals and organizing authorities have been instructed to comply with these restrictions, and local police stations have been tasked with enforcing the guidelines. The order states, “Any person who contravenes this order shall be liable to be punished in accordance with the provisions of law.”
