Bhubaneswar, Sept 19: An 18-year-old tribal girl was allegedly gang-raped by three men in Odisha's Sundargarh district. The incident occurred on the night of September 16 when the girl attended the Karma festival in her village under the Kutra police jurisdiction in Rajgangpur.

Reports indicate that the girl was ambushed by the three accused, including two minors. One of the suspects, reportedly her boyfriend, was joined by two friends. The trio then took the victim to a secluded spot where they assaulted her before fleeing the scene.

The crime came to light after the victim and her parents filed a complaint at Kutra police station. Following the complaint, police launched a manhunt and arrested the three suspects.

Rajgangpur SDPO Abhishek Panigrahi stated, “Given the sensitivity of the case, I am withholding further details. The incident, which occurred on September 16, involved individuals known to each other. We have arrested the accused and are verifying their ages. Further investigation is ongoing.”
