Class XII students allegedly attack juniors in Nuapada, 22 injured

Bhubaneswar, Sept 6: In a shocking incident, around 22 Class XII students of Navodaya Vidyalaya in Tarbod, Nuapada district, Odisha, allegedly assaulted Class X students after accusations that the juniors made derogatory remarks about their seniors during the Teachers’ Day celebration on Thursday.
Reports indicate that the Class XII students, acting as teachers during the celebration, visited the Class X classroom. When some junior students made unfavorable comments about their seniors, tensions escalated.
After the Teachers’ Day event, the senior students reportedly called the juniors to the hostel, where they brutally beat them with iron rods, belts, and other objects, resulting in injuries to 22 students.
On Friday, the aggrieved Class X students staged a protest, demanding the suspension of the seniors involved in the attack. Parents of the injured students blamed the Principal, House Master, and night watcher for the incident.
