Fresh low-pressure area to trigger rain in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Sept 4: As the southwest monsoon weakens in Odisha, several parts of the state are expected to experience rain over the next four days due to the formation of a fresh low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Wednesday.
Weather Forecast and Warnings for Odisha:
Day 1 (Valid until 08:30 AM IST on 5th September 2024):
Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely in some areas of South Odisha and at a few places in North Odisha.
Yellow Warning (Be Aware): Heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) and thunderstorms with lightning are expected in isolated areas of Malkangiri, Koraput, and Nabarangpur. Thunderstorms with lightning are also likely in Rayagada, Kalahandi, Kandhamal, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nuapada, and Bolangir.
Day 2 (Valid from 08:30 AM IST on 5th September 2024 to 08:30 AM IST on 6th September 2024):
Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely in many places in South Odisha and a few in North Odisha.
Yellow Warning (Be Aware): Heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) and thunderstorms with lightning are expected in isolated areas of Malkangiri, Koraput, Nawarangpur, Kalahandi, Bolangir, Nuapada, Rayagada, Ganjam, and Gajapati. Thunderstorms with lightning are also expected in Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khurda, and Nayagarh.
Day 3 (Valid from 08:30 AM IST on 6th September 2024 to 08:30 AM IST on 7th September 2024):
Light to moderate rain/thundershowers are likely across many parts of Odisha.
Yellow Warning (Be Aware): Heavy rainfall (7 to 11 cm) and thunderstorms with lightning are expected in isolated areas of Puri, Khurda, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Jagatsinghpur, Cuttack, Rayagada, Koraput, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, and Kandhamal.
