Anganwadi worker critically injured in sword attack in Cuttack

Bhubaneswar, Aug 12: An Anganwadi worker, Bharti Jena, was critically injured in a brutal sword attack by unidentified miscreants near Chari Chhak on the Nuagaon-Khajuripada road in Cuttack district on Monday.
Bharti, a resident of Anuari village under Banki tehsil, was on her way to the Anganwadi Center on her scooter when the incident occurred. The attack, which appears to have been a robbery attempt, took place on Monday morning. Despite the severity of the attack, Bharti's life was likely saved by her helmet, which offered some protection.
After the attack, the assailants fled the scene, leaving Bharti in a critical condition. Local residents quickly came to her aid and initially admitted her to a nearby hospital. Due to the severity of her injuries, she was later transferred to the Khurda District Head Hospital (DHH) for further treatment. The police have launched an investigation into the incident to apprehend the culprits.
