Youth escapes death in Balasore after being shot at by miscreants

Bhubaneswar, Aug 7: A youth narrowly escaped death when unidentified assailants opened fire at him in Balia, under Sahadevkhunta police limits in Balasore district on Wednesday. The victim, identified as Manoranjan Bindhani, suffered a minor facial injury after a bullet from the attackers narrowly missed his face.
Initial reports indicate that four individuals on a motorcycle intercepted Manoranjan as he was returning from the gym. They pulled out a gun and fired at him. To save his life, Manoranjan fled the scene and sought refuge in the residence of Remuna MLA Gobinda Chandra Das.
MLA Das reported, “I was near my house listening to the grievances of constituents when Manoranjan rushed in, informing me of the attack. I immediately alerted the police and the SP, demanding swift action to arrest the perpetrators. It seems the attack may be linked to a group dispute.”
Dr. Rajesh Kumar from Balasore District Headquarters Hospital stated, “The youth’s condition is stable, but I have advised him to seek further evaluation from the surgery department.” The police have launched an investigation into the incident.
