Notorious fraudster Satyajit Samal remanded for two days

Bhubaneswar, Aug 6: Serial conman Satyajit Managovind Samal, arrested for marrying five women and duping them of lakhs of rupees while flirting with 49 other women, will go on a two-day remand starting today.
Sources report that the Capital police had requested a 10-day remand, but the court granted only two days. Satyajit, who hails from Jajpur, was arrested on August 3. He deceived women by posing as an Intelligence Bureau (IB) officer on a matrimonial website to lure victims.
His modus operandi involved marrying women, extracting money from them, and then abandoning them. He would transfer the money abroad, primarily to Dubai, to evade detection.
The police are now investigating the full extent of Satyajit's crimes and the number of women he may have duped. They are also tracing the money he transferred abroad. His scams came to light after two victims filed complaints at the Capital Police station, revealing that he had duped them of Rs 44 lakh, a car, and a bullet.
Living in Chandrasekhapur in the Capital city, Samal duped the first victim of Rs 36 lakh and a car, and the second woman of Rs 8 lakh and a bullet.
