Cuttack woman’s scooter abandoned on Subash Setu, police launch search

Bhubaneswar, July 31: Markatnagar police have identified the owner of a scooter and sandals abandoned on Subash Setu at Trishulia. The scooter belongs to Mamata Sahu, a teacher from Nua Bazaar in Cuttack, but her current whereabouts remain unknown.
The incident came to light when passersby noticed the scooter parked on the bridge. Sources reveal that Mamata, a local school teacher with over 10 years of service, lives with her husband and family in Nua Bazaar, Cuttack. She attended her father’s death anniversary ceremony with her husband and returned home around 9 pm. However, she left home on her scooter at 3 am without informing anyone.
Upon being alerted to the abandoned scooter, police found it with the key still in the ignition and a slipper nearby. The scooter's license plate helped them identify Mamata.
Her family members arrived at the bridge and confirmed the scooter's ownership but could not explain her sudden departure or whereabouts.
