Three toddlers drown in village pond in Bhadrak
Bhubaneswar, July 30: A pall of gloom descended on Atrukana village in Bhadrak district after three children tragically drowned in a pond on Tuesday.
The deceased toddlers have been identified as Payal Patra (3), Bharati Patra (4), and Lipsa Patra (3).
Sources report that the children had attended classes at the Atrukana Anganwadi Centre. After classes, while playing outside the center, they wandered off towards a nearby pond and accidentally fell in.
Local residents rescued the children and rushed them to Agarpada Hospital, where they were pronounced dead.
In response to the tragedy, the Bhadrak District Collector has ordered an investigation into the incident.
