Rourkela mourns as two locals die in Jharkhand train accident

Bhubaneswar, July 30: A devastating train derailment in Jharkhand on Tuesday has claimed the lives of two individuals from Rourkela, Odisha, according to sources.
The tragic incident occurred when the Howrah-CSMT Express (train number 12810) derailed between Rajkharsawan and Badabambo stations around 4 am in the Chakradharpur railway division. The deceased have been identified as Ajit Samal from Malgodam and Bikash Rao from Railway Colony.
Both Ajit and Bikash, who likely knew each other due to their close residences, had boarded the general coach after purchasing tickets the previous night. The derailment happened at approximately 3:45 am. Their bodies are currently at Chakradharpur Hospital.
After the post-mortem, the bodies will be handed over to their respective families.
The deaths of Ajit and Bikash have sent shockwaves through the Steel City. Family members of the deceased are traveling to Chakradharpur today to receive the bodies and perform the last rites, sources said.
