Postmortem report reveals details in journalist Madhumita Parida's death

Bhubaneswar, July 29: The postmortem report in the death case of journalist Madhumita Parida has been obtained by the Commissionerate Police, revealing multiple injury marks on her body. According to the report, Madhumita was alive for some time after being dragged by the train but succumbed to her injuries on the spot.
In a press conference on July 25, Bhubaneswar DCP disclosed that Madhumita had been threatened with divorce by her husband, leading to regular marital discord and mental distress for her. The DCP noted that the claim of the husband’s second marriage is still under investigation, and phone records of both Madhumita and her husband will be thoroughly examined. All individuals related to the case will be questioned.
The DCP further revealed that Madhumita had lodged a complaint with Dhauli Police Station on July 23, alleging that her husband ignored her and threatened divorce if she complained. She also found romantic messages between her husband and other women on his phone. Following this, Madhumita’s mother intervened and took her home.
The Dhauli Police have arrested Madhumita’s husband, and a case of Unnatural Death (UD) has been registered by the Government Railway Police (GRP).
