Odisha CM to attend NITI Aayog meeting on Saturday
Bhubaneswar, July 25: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi will depart for Delhi on Friday to attend the NITI Aayog meeting scheduled for July 27.
Sources indicate that Chief Minister Majhi's trip to Delhi is for the NITI Aayog meeting on Saturday, which will focus on various developmental issues and policy matters.
Reports suggest that at least four chief ministers, including three from the Congress, plan to boycott the NITI Aayog meeting in protest against the Union Budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman on Tuesday.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will chair NITI Aayog’s ninth Governing Council meeting, where the ‘Vikshit Bharat@2047’ document, aimed at making India a developed nation, will be discussed, according to sources.
The Council, the apex body of NITI Aayog, comprises all State Chief Ministers, Lieutenant Governors of Union Territories, and several Union Ministers.
It is noteworthy that NITI Aayog, established in 2015, is the premier policy-making body of the Government of India.
