Maa Majhighariani temple donation box opened after four months

Bhubaneswar, July 24: The donation box (hundi) at the Maa Majhighariani Temple was opened on Wednesday for the first time in four months, under the supervision of the local Tahsildar.
Reports indicate that nine donation boxes are being opened and their contents counted in the presence of temple management committee members and under tight police security. Over 2,000 employees and volunteers from various organizations are involved in the counting process.
Previously, on March 18, the hundi contained ₹89,72,225 in cash, 62 grams of silver, and 2.3 kg of gold, along with 62 foreign currency notes. This time, the temple committee anticipates that the cash collection will be between ₹80 and ₹90 lakh. The funds from today’s counting will be deposited into the main branch of Rayagada Union Bank.
