Drunken husband allegedly beats wife to death in Balasore

Bhubaneswar, July 19: A woman was allegedly beaten to death by her drunken husband in Singhsahi village, Oupada block, Balasore district, on Thursday night.
The victim, Gurubari Singh, and the suspect, Pandu Singh, have been identified.
Sources indicate that Pandu Singh, 50, had a pattern of returning home drunk and physically abusing his wife, Gurubari. This ongoing domestic violence led to the tragic incident on Thursday night, resulting in Gurubari’s death.
Pandu, accused of the fatal beating, had previously broken Gurubari's hand in another domestic violence incident, according to sources. Oupada police, led by IIC Shravan Kumar Maharana, received a tip-off and arrived at the scene to investigate the matter.
Gurubari’s brother stated, “Pandu is a habitual offender. He didn’t stop even when he started beating her face. We found him sitting near Gurubari’s body when we arrived. When questioned, he denied killing Gurubari. He should be taken into police custody.”
