Truck accident claims life of retired bank employee in Bhubaneswar
Bhubaneswar, July 15: A retired bank employee, Sadananda Swain, tragically died after a speeding truck struck him near Kala Bhoomi, Odisha Crafts Museum, in Gandamunda, Bhubaneswar on Monday morning.
The accident occurred while he was taking his routine morning walk, resulting in his immediate death at the scene, sources confirmed.
Upon receiving the information, police promptly arrived at the location, apprehended the driver responsible, and impounded the truck involved in the incident. The body of Sadananda Swain has been sent for postmortem examination, and authorities have initiated further investigation into the matter.
Locals alleged that traffic mismanagement in the area has remained as a major concern. “In the absence of adequate number of speed breakers, the area has witnessed several road mishaps in recent past. Authorities must install speed breakers to reduce speed of vehicles,” said a local.
