Bhubaneswar, July 13: In a tragic incident, three people were killed in a road accident near Budikhmari Road on National Highway-18 under Betnoti police station in Mayurbhanj district.

The unfortunate incident occurred when a bus carrying 20 pilgrims was traveling from Hyderabad to Gaya. The bus driver lost control and collided head-on with a truck.

Among the deceased was one of the bus drivers. Several passengers were injured and have been admitted to PRM Medical College and Hospital in Baripada. The bus had 20 passengers, two drivers, and two helpers on board.

The deceased driver was identified as Uday Singh from the Charminar area in Hyderabad. Reports indicate that the passengers were on a pilgrimage to Gaya from Hyderabad.

ADMO Bijay Kumar Das stated that the driver died on the spot, while two others succumbed to their injuries at the hospital. Another 14 critically injured passengers are currently receiving treatment at Pandit Raghunath Murmu Medical College and Hospital.
