Truck accident claims life of Home Guard in Paradip
Bhubaneswar, July 13: Tension escalated in Paradip following the tragic death of a Home Guard in a road accident on Friday night.
The deceased, identified as Rajan Pradhan, was on duty at Dochhaki in Paradip when a speeding truck struck him, resulting in his immediate death.
Pradhan was stationed at Lock police station. Upon receiving the news, police responded swiftly, sending the body for autopsy.
Subsequently, hundreds of locals from Balidia village gathered at the scene, expressing anger and demanding adequate compensation. They blocked the road and vowed to continue their protest until their demands were met, causing severe disruptions to vehicular traffic with trucks and buses stranded on both sides.
Senior administrative and police officials arrived at the site to calm the situation and engage with the affected community.
