Police probe death of teenage girl in Mancheswar
Bhubaneswar, July 9: In a shocking incident, the body of a 17-year-old girl was found in a house in Shriram Nagar slum, under the jurisdiction of Mancheswar police station in Bhubaneswar, on Monday night.
Reports indicate that the girl, originally from Uttar Pradesh, was employed as a house-help for a couple living in the Shriram Nagar area.
The couple stated that on Monday evening, the girl locked herself inside a room and did not respond when called for dinner at 9:30 pm. Concerned for her safety, they broke into the room through the window and discovered her hanging from the ceiling fan with a saree.
Mancheswar police arrived at the scene and, with the assistance of a forensic team, initiated an investigation into the matter. The cause of death is yet to be determined.
