Petrol pump staff shot, Rs 12 lakh robbed in brazen Balasore daylight robbery

Bhubaneswar, July 9: In a brazen daylight robbery, six assailants on motorcycles shot at two petrol pump staff and stole approximately Rs 12 lakh in cash in front of a bank at Bartana Bazar under Khaira police limits in Odisha's Balasore district on Tuesday.
According to reports, the incident occurred as Ajay Mohapatra and Bishnupada Mohapatra, employees of Kupeswar petrol pump, were en route to deposit the cash at Indian Bank's Bartana branch.
Six miscreants arrived on two motorcycles and forced Ajay and Bishnupada to stop in front of the bank. They opened fire, injuring Bishnupada in the left leg, and forcibly took away the cash-filled bag.
The robbers fled the scene with the bag containing approximately Rs 12 lakh in cash. Local residents rescued the injured Bishnupada and rushed him to Khaira Hospital for treatment.
Upon receiving information, Khaira Police arrived at the scene and launched an investigation into the incident.
