CM announces Rs 15 lakh incentive for Odia Olympic athletes

Bhubaneswar, July 8: In an inspiring move to support athletes, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced on Monday an incentive of Rs. 15 lakh each for two athletes from Odisha who will represent India in the upcoming Paris Olympics.
CM Majhi extended his support to Javelin thrower Kishore Kumar Jena and Hockey player Amit Rohidas, who are set to compete in Paris from July 26 to August 11, 2024.
Majhi expressed his hopes, saying, “I believe this amount will motivate the athletes to deliver outstanding performances and bring glory to the nation.”
He added, “The Olympics are the pinnacle of sports. By qualifying for the Paris Olympics, Kishore Jena and Amit Rohidas have made not only their homeland but the entire state proud with their achievement.”
Extending his heartfelt greetings, the CM said, “On behalf of the people of Odisha, I extend my best wishes and congratulations to both young athletes. I have full faith in their indomitable willpower, hard work, dedication, and perseverance, which will inspire the budding talents of the state.”
The people of Odisha have complete confidence in both individuals. With the blessings of Lord Jagannath, the Chief Minister expressed hope that they will bring honor to the state and the country through their exceptional sports skills at the Olympics.
