Sundargarh Police investigate Garjanbahal firing incident

Bhubaneswar, July 5: Sundargarh Police, led by Sub-divisional Police Officer Himanshu Bhusan Behera, reached Raigarh to investigate the Garjanbahal firing incident that left 10 people injured on Thursday night.
Reports indicate that over 200 rounds were blank fired during a business rivalry between two partners from Chhattisgarh at an under-construction coal washery in Garjanbahal, under Hemgiri police limits in Sundargarh district. Among the injured, two are from Sundargarh.
The police team will interrogate the two injured youths from Sundargarh, who are currently receiving treatment at a hospital in Raigarh. Additionally, the police plan to question the two businessmen responsible for the firing incident.
An investigation into the incident has been launched.
Speaking to the media, SDPO Behera said, “Last night a clash erupted between two parties at a coal washery in Garjanbahal. We learned that two youths from Sundargarh have been taken to a Raigarh-based hospital for treatment. A police team from Odisha has arrived in Chhattisgarh to interrogate the injured individuals from Sundargarh. The investigation is ongoing, and we will take necessary action soon.”
